RACE SEASON, PERENNIALS, AND SWEET SIXTEEN

I hope you all had a wonderful spring break! If yours was anything like mine, it was a full and busy work week! However, I hope yours was full of rest and relaxation! We did have a crawfish boil last weekend, so that, in my head, officially means it's spring, plus, I've seen that our local farms have started harvesting strawberries! The Masters are in two weeks, Easter is next week, it's one of my favorite times of year! Happy Saturday Six!

THE HOME EDIT

YOUR WEEKLY DOSE OF QUICK AND EASY HOME TIPS.

With a beautiful weekend ahead, it’s the perfect excuse to step outside and breathe a little life into your home, literally. Whether you have a full backyard or just a front porch, a little planting can go a long way.

Here are a few simple ways to make the most of it:

Start small, but make it count.
You don’t need a full garden to feel the impact, grab a couple of planters for your front porch or patio. A mix of greenery and blooms instantly makes your home feel more welcoming (and adds a little extra charm if you’re thinking about selling this season!!)

Go for low-maintenance wins.
If you’re new to planting or short on time, stick with easy options like herbs (basil, mint, rosemary) or hardy flowers. They’re forgiving, functional, and give you that “I have my life together” energy without the stress.

Create a space you’ll actually use.
Think beyond just planting, add a chair, a small table, or even string lights. Turning your garden or porch into a place you want to sit makes all the difference.

Refresh your curb appeal in an afternoon.
Fresh mulch, a few new plants, and a swept walkway can completely transform the look of your home before Monday rolls around.

Let it be simple.
It doesn’t have to be perfect or Pinterest-worthy. A little dirt on your hands, a slow morning outside, and something growing by the end of the day is more than enough.

FIVE

THE POCKET CHANGE

YOUR WEEKLY TIP TOWARDS FINANCIAL GROWTH.

A little money in the yard can go a long way, whether you’re staying put or thinking about selling down the road.

Start with a $20 refresh.
A bag of mulch, a few flowers, and a quick cleanup can instantly elevate your curb appeal. It’s one of the highest-impact, lowest-cost updates you can make in a single afternoon.

Grow what you’ll actually use.
Herbs like basil, mint, and rosemary cost just a few dollars but can save you money week after week at the grocery store. Plus, they make you feel a little more put together when you cook at home.

Perennials = long-term return.
Instead of replanting every year, invest in a few perennials that come back season after season. You pay once, and they keep showing up.

Think like a future buyer.
Even if you’re not selling anytime soon, small touches like fresh beds, trimmed edges, and simple landscaping make your home feel cared for, which always pays off when it does hit the market.

Skip the overwhelm.
You don’t need a full landscaping overhaul. A few intentional updates now can build over time, and keep your budget (and your weekend) intact.

*Please always consult with your accountant or financial advisers before making any significant financial decisions.
