MASTERS, STRAWBERRIES, AND TANNING BEDS

Happy Masters Weekend to all who participate! It's seeming like Arkansas is wearing its Green Jacket as everything is so green and beautiful outside! Plus, I just trimmed some hydrangeas and I have a big bowl of Cabot strawberries to eat. I think I can easily say that it is truly the best time of year! I hope you all enjoyed this week as much as I did!

THE HOME EDIT

YOUR WEEKLY DOSE OF QUICK AND EASY HOME TIPS.

There’s something about Masters Sunday that feels a little slower, a little more intentional. Whether you’re having a few people over or just making the day feel special at home, hosting doesn’t have to be complicated to feel thoughtful. A few simple touches can go a long way.

When it comes to hosting, I always think it’s best to keep things simple but intentional. You don’t need a full spread, just one or two things done well. Set out food and drinks ahead of time, create a space where people can gather comfortably, and let the rest fall into place. Simple always feels better than rushed.

If you want to lean into the theme, classic Masters-inspired foods are easy and fun: pimento cheese sliders, chicken salad sandwiches, chips and dip, or a simple dessert. Nothing fancy, just familiar and easy. Pair it with a signature drink like sweet tea, an Arnold Palmer, or sparkling lemonade, and set it out so guests can help themselves.

This is also a great time to add a few light touches around your home. Fresh flowers from the grocery store, a clean and cozy living space, and soft background music before the tournament starts can completely shift the atmosphere. It doesn’t have to be perfect, just welcoming.

Most importantly, make it comfortable and actually enjoy it. People remember how a home feels more than how it looks. Sit down, watch the tournament, and be present with the people around you.

This is one of my favorite parts of homeownership: having a space to gather, slow down, and enjoy moments like this. Sometimes the best Sundays are the simplest ones.

FIVE

THE POCKET CHANGE

YOUR WEEKLY TIP TOWARDS FINANCIAL GROWTH.

One of the most fascinating parts of The Masters isn’t just the tradition or prestige, it’s the pricing, and the history behind it.

Since the tournament began in 1934 at Augusta National Golf Club, the goal has always been to create an experience that feels timeless and accessible. While so much about the event is exclusive, the concessions have intentionally remained affordable for decades. Classic items like pimento cheese sandwiches and egg salad are still priced in a way that feels almost unexpected for an event of this caliber.

It’s not accidental, it’s part of the philosophy. The Masters has always prioritized tradition, consistency, and the overall experience over constantly increasing prices. In a world where most events evolve by becoming more expensive, they’ve stayed remarkably steady.

There’s something to learn from that. Not everything has to be maximized for the short term. Sometimes, the most lasting value is created by staying consistent, protecting the experience, and thinking long-term.

It’s a quiet reminder that the best things, whether it’s an event, an investment, or even a home, are built with intention over time.
